The April Verch Band
Concert: Saturday, September 16 2017, 7:30 pm at the Old Theater
A prodigy and fiddle virtuoso, Verch performs traditional and old-time American and Appalachian styles and beyond. Onstage, Verch is almost superhuman. She step dances while fiddling. She sings while step dancing. Sometimes she sings, steps and fiddles all at once. Verch is - as they say - a triple threat, her live show a beautiful companion to her music: versatile, robust, and masterfully executed.

Bring the family, your dancing shoes and musical instruments for a free Jamboree with the April Verch Band! Join in and help create this unique musical experience, or just sit back and enjoy the ride. April will demonstrate the step-dance style from her native Ottawa Valley, Canada. Like the Ottawa Valley fiddle tradition, it is a melting pot of influences; clogging, tap dancing, Irish hardshoe step dancing to name a few. Give it a try -- hard sole shoes are best, sandals are the worst -- and if you'd rather jam with the musicians, join in with your instrument of choice.
